Our office hours are Monday to Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday 9am to 4pm. However, with our remote access to our telephones we can take your call up to 8pm Monday to Saturday.

Mortgage Advice

At Bishop Estates we are able to offer advice on mortgages and hopefully find a product that suits your needs.

Our Financial Adviser will be able to look at the whole of the market for you and offer you advice on protection. There are many options to consider and our Independent Financial Advisers will be able to give you advice and help to make the facts easy to understand:

  • Fixed rates - for a set period of time i.e. 2,3,5,10 years
  • Tracker - this product tracks the Bank Of England base rate for a set period of time or even the life of the mortgage
  • Discounted - this is normally a rate below the banks standard variable rate
  • Offset Mortgages - this is ideal for people with savings of a certain amount which can be offset against the mortgage to clear the mortgage quicker
  • Buy to Let Mortgages - specifically for rented properties
  • Interest only - at the end of the term the whole amount that you initially borrowed is repaid using investments/ISA's/inheritance/selling the property - your adviser will discuss the risks
  • Repayment - this is where you pay capital and interest throughout the term and providing you keep up your repayments in full, your mortgage will be paid off in full at the end of the term


You are free to choose your own solicitor but it's important to consider location when finalising documents. At Bishop we recommend two local firms that will be able to assist with your transaction.

When it comes to signing documentation and confirming proof of identity, these often have to be done at the offices of the solicitors dealing with your conveyancing so having a local firm means you do not have to travel to complete this task.

Also if you use a solicitor locally its likely that the vendor will also be using a local agent and that again can keep the process moving smoothly.
